Sizewell Holiday 2018

We are pleased to be launching the St John’s summer holiday 2018, at Sizewell Hall. Open to everybody within the church, a chance to get away in a beautiful old stately home by the sea for a week. Next year the dates will be 11th to 18th August 2018.

This is a great opportunity to be challenged spiritually, relax, eat great food, deepen friendships and make new connections. A chance to kayak, swim, build fires on the beach, bbq, walk, play table tennis, air hockey and pool.

Everyone is welcome. Travel cots and highchairs are available for families, and children & young people have their own groups to attend in the mornings, led by our children and families worker Clare Johnson.

The booking team will be Jos Saunders, Clare Astbury, Marian Thomas, Alan Hawes and Noelle Gore. There is an information board about the holiday at the side of the church, where booking forms can be collected or speak to one of the team in the foyer after a church service in the coming weeks.

Sizewell Hall is England’s most easterly, self-catering, Christian Conference and Camping Centre. It has it’s own beach and idyllic woodland area. So there is lots of space for Children as well as the ability to get away for some wonderful coastal peace and quiet.

Every 2 years St John’s books the entire Hall for our exclusive use. It is great value for money as it is an all-inclusive family Holiday. Food, worship, teaching and an amazing space to play or just be.

Each day after sharing breakfast we have a short time of worship and sharing around God’s Word. After which everyone is free to enjoy whatever you want in a holiday. The Hall is well equipped with a sports hall, games room, outside play area and quiet library inside. Some of the activities that are going on will depend on who makes up the party. In previous years it has been painting, up-cycling, creative writing, family sports, face painting, quizzes and long walks.  However there is always a jigsaw challenge and knitting in the library.

We then come together for tea and cake and the evening meal is a great family style time together.
