Wednesday Morning Congregation
Welcome to the midweek congregation, an oasis of calm during the busy week!
The Wednesday congregation meets in church every week at 10:30am for a communion service (using the Book of Common Prayer), with four hymns, two Bible readings, and a relevant talk about living the Christian life. We learn from a variety of speakers who lead us in understanding the Bible passages and how to apply them to our own lives. Afterwards we gather together at the back of the church for chat, tea and coffee and of course the special biscuits that we are famed for!
Services are recorded so that housebound people who would have loved to have been with us, are able to join in the service in their own homes, CDs are distributed on request. We are strongly supportive of one another. Because we meet during the working week, the majority of us tend to be in the 50 to 100 age range, but we often get younger people, including mums with small children, who are a delight to us all.
However, we don’t only meet for services. Two or three times a year we put on excellent lunches for all to come to, and most of us take part in a wide variety of other church activities. It’s great to do these things together.
If you would like to come, but find transport is a problem, then we have the 'Taxi to Church' scheme which will give you door-to-door service. Please contact the Church Office if you would like more information on how to book a taxi through the scheme.
Come and join us!
