A little time for quiet reflection before be begin...

We say out loud:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
1 Peter 1.3

Approach to worship, please pray together:

Risen Christ, as the first disciples heard you say, “Peace be with you!”
so may I hear and receive your peace.
As you breathed your Holy Spirit over them,
so may I breathe in and receive your Spirit.
As you released them to become one with you,
so my I become one with you
in faith and hope and love… forever. Amen.

Worship in Song:
Our first song, “In Christ alone my hope is found” (From 'Homeward' by Celtic Worship)

Confession:
St Paul says, “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

So let us turn away from sin and turn to the Lord,
confessing our sins in penitence and faith:

Holy God, in the midst of life we are in death; where can we turn for help? Only to you, Lord, who are justly angered by our sins.
All: Holy God, holy and strong, holy and immortal,
have mercy upon us.

Shut not your ears to our prayers,
but spare us, O Lord.
All: Holy God, holy and strong, holy and immortal,
have mercy upon us.

You know the secrets of our hearts;
forgive us our sins.
All: Holy God, holy and strong, holy and immortal,
have mercy upon us.

Eternal and merciful judge,
both in life and when we come to die,
let us not fall away from you.
All: Holy God, holy and strong, holy and immortal,
have mercy upon us.
Receive God's forgiveness...

May the God of love and power
forgive us and free us from our sins,
heal and strengthen us by his Spirit,
and raise us to new life in Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Prayers:
St Paul tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  Philippians 4:6

A guide to your prayers:
Take time to pray for the world…
Give thanks for God’s love and his peace.
Give thanks and pray for those you know and love.
Pray for those who are sick, those under stress, those separated from loved ones, those who are dying.
Pray for doctors, nurses, and all who work in Hospitals and Medical Practices, and pray for all ‘key workers’.
Pray for all those involved with essential transport by land, sea or air.
Pray for those caring for the dying and the bereaved.
Pray for yourself…
And as Jesus taught us, so we pray:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.

Worship in Song:
Our last hymn which includes lyrics, “King of Kings, Majesty” (Sung by Jarrod Cooper)

Our scripture verse for the week is: "Come near to God and he will come near to you.” James 4:8

The Blessing:
O Lord,
our Lord,
dear Lord,
God of earth and heaven,
Of place and presence and glory.

Keep our fragile faith alive
and make it stronger,
Hold our fragile hopes secure
and make them surer,
Fill our fragile hearts with love
that will not let go,
That we might hold fast to you
as you hold fast to us.

And the blessing of God almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among us and remain with us always.
Amen. (GCG)

End of the service

God bless, take care and stay close to the one who holds you, Jesus Christ.
