Here is some information about our Sunday morning provision when the church is open.  This may be subject to change when the church reopens as we adjust to a new way of working.

LittleLightsFinal

Little Lights is our space for 0-2 year olds in the vestry at the back of the main church, where we have lots of toys suitable for babies and pre-schoolers. We also have a comfy sofa for parents and babes-in-arms who need somewhere quiet to escape to, and lots of story books.  At the moment children need to be accompanied by an adult in Little Lights.  There are also rugs at the front and back of church during our services on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month where you're invited to bring toys to play with during the service.

SparlkersFinal

Sparklers is for children from age 2 to Reception year at school.  At Sparklers the children enjoy Bible stories, songs, crafts and games, as well as playing with toys and going outside when the weather is fine. Parents are welcome to stay with or leave their children according to the child’s needs. We always have one leader and one helper at each session. Sparklers is held in the Old Vicarage and lasts for approximately one hour, doors open at 10:25am.

WidfireFinal

Wildfire is for children in school years 1-6 (ages 5-11).  At Wildfire we cover a range of topics and characters in the Bible using drama, craft, discussion and games. A lot of the material we use is sourced from Urban Saints.  Wildfire also includes worship, a time for free play, and drinks and snacks.  Wildfire takes place in the Old Vicarage rooms 7&8 (upstairs) and doors open at 10:25am.  At the end of the session children are escorted to church by their leaders for the end of the service.

Children's and Families' Worker

Hi, my name is Clare and I’m really excited to be here at St John’s and St Andrew’s as Children’s and Families’ Worker.  I first started working with children at the age of 16 when I became a Junior Church helper at the church I attended with my family.  During my first year at university I felt God was calling me into a career in children’s ministry and so I began to gather as much experience and training as I could through my local church.  I became involved with Junior Church, Holiday Club, All Age Services, Messy Church and School Assemblies.  Between 2011 and 2013 I studied for a Diploma in Children’s Mission and Ministry at Cliff College in Derbyshire and in 2015 I returned to Cliff to do a short course in Schools Ministry.  Before coming to Woodbridge I worked at St James the Great Church in Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire for just over three years as their Children’s Worker.

I love teaching children about God’s Big Story and helping them understand that they can be part of that story now – not just when they’re all grown up!  I especially enjoy visiting schools for assemblies and clubs.  I’m also passionate about All Age worship.  I’m excited to get involved with the children’s and families’ ministry here in Woodbridge and I’m looking forward to running kids clubs, family outreach events and lots of other exciting things!
