Celebration and APCM Service  Sunday 21April 

2024-04-21 APCM AThis coming Sunday we will be celebrating and reviewing 2023 at our Annual Church Meeting.
Come along early for Praise, Worship and Pastries., worship starts at 10.20am.

The Annual Report and Financial Accounts 2023 and Annual Review 2023 (which also contains the agenda for Sunday and minutes from 2023) can be found on our APCM webpage.

 

New Website and ChurchSuite 

Hopefully you will have received your invitation to join our new membership database during this last week?  If you haven't seen the email, Alan, Noelle and Lois will be available before and after the APCM this Sunday to help you sign up.  From Next Friday this is where your weekly Enews will come from. Alternatively please contact the office and we will be able to assist.

On Sunday we will also be launching our New Website at the APCM, so when you go online things will look a little different, this website will continue to be developed during the coming months, so if you see something which looks not quite finished, please bear with us as we complete this work.  

This Sunday: Regional New Wine Sunday Evening Celebration

Local churches coming together for extended worship, teaching, and ministry in the power of the Spirit with John and Anne Coles who led New Wine England from 2001-2014. 
Refreshments will be from 6 pm followed by the celebration at 6.30 pm.
It will be lovely to see you there!

Prayer letter from David and Manuela Pawson 

We have received this month's prayer letter from our mission partners David and Manuela Pawson who, after four years in Japan, are spending time in the UK and Germany before returning to Japan next year.

The Beehive Foundation  Fundraising Evening :  This Friday, 19 April

The Beehive, whose founders are Alan and Jane Hutt originally from Wickham Market, is a refuge for child mothers and their children, transforming young lives through compassion, love and hope, built on Christian values.


 

ECO AND FOOD FAIR: Saturday 20 April

It is fantastic that we have our Bronze Eco Church award. To aim for Silver our next event is to take part in the Churches Together Stall at the Eco and Food Fair on 20 April.

Setting up from 9am.
Helping on the stall in shifts from 10 until 4.

Some Sad News of Old Friends

Joan Birt: Some of you will remember Joan with much fondness, Joan served the church for many years and was a member of the Wednesday congregation until illness prevented her from attending, sadly she recently died. Her funeral service is on Monday 22 April 12.45 pm at Seven Hills Crematorium 

Revd Christine Marshall: Ed Cory has received an email  informing him of the death of Christine, both Christine and her husband, the Revd Alex Marshall, were involved in services at St John’s during Dave Gardner’s time.
