Important News – Coronavirus advice
In response to the current concerns around the Coronavirus outbreak, we don’t want to add to any anxiety around this issue and want to assure you that we take your health seriously.
As we all know, the best way to avoid the spread of germs is through good hygiene practices. In addition to that for the time being, on entering the Church and other church buildings you will see a table set up in each foyer / entrance with antibacterial gel, which we would like you to use.
The advice reminds us all that if you are suffering from the usual coughs and colds of winter, or are feeling unwell for any other reason, please consider staying at home to avoid the spread of these bugs in church or life groups. We also want to follow the general NHS advice to
carry tissues and use them to catch coughs and sneezes, and then bin the tissue.
Wash hands with soap and water (for 20 seconds) or use sanitiser gel to kill germs.
Should you have concerns that you may have contracted Coronavirus, please follow the advice that you shouldn't attend A&E or your GP practice but should phone NHS 111 for advice. If you are a returning traveller from an affected area then please follow the government advice found online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public#advice-for-travellers
Further information and practical advice for churches can be viewed on the diocese of Edmundsbury and Ipswich website. https://www.cofesuffolk.org/news/article/practical-steps-to-reduce-the-risk-of-infection-from-coronavirus-covid-19
As the advice is constantly being updated please refer to either the government website, NHS or the Diocese for the latest information. We will also endeavour to pick out the main points for your information as we become aware of them.
